The family is in uproar.
The first thing they did after Uncle Jin died was set a date for the funerals, so that the ceremonies for Auntie Evelyn and Uncle Jin could be held together.
The second thing was to ask us all not to 'release' any information to anyone outside the family yet.
The third thing was to ask us to go back into training. Elder Park is supervising and man is he harsh. Before, we were trained by the aunties and uncles and they took turns. Elder Park only looked after Chae's training. No wonder she's so... well, the way she is.
I talked to Tae the other day. I asked him if he was okay, he looked at me like I was an insensitive b-tch. I apologized. So did he. He said that he was just stressed and confused. I didn't know what to say. I patted him awkwardly on the back.
He asked me if I had any idea what happened when Auntie Evelyn died. I said that I thought it would have to be someone in the family, we would have noticed a gatecrasher to this family event. Too bad they had so much extended family over. I suggested he not suspect anyone to close to the family, I mean if they saw her every weekend, why wait til now?
Anyway, I was talking to Wes, complaining about the party actually, when Chae ran out into the garden and ran around, desperate like, you know? Like she was seriously freaked out. The first time I've ever seen so much expression on her. She was looking for Uncle Jin and they grabbed Tae and went back inside.
I asked him if he would consider being the head of the family. He laughed me off. He never had those ambitions in the first place. Tae's never had any want or need for...power. Neither does Chae though. My god, I feel so guilty for being merely acquaintances with her. She just never trained with us, you know? But now I know what she's been going through.
I can't believe Elder Park made us fight each other like that, not to that extent. Like we had to kill and then maim. Brutal like.
I don't think the family can tolerate Elder Park as a head. Not as anything more than temporary. Because I certainly can't.
